Hi,
I must be blind or something. What is wrong with that, other than the decal?
-Edit -
I just spotted where Lavoy says the track pads and chains ought to be green.
I can't say what color mine were as I have no paint at all on any of my track chains or pads! Might be some hanging on still on the undersides in a nook or cranny somewhere, but the dirt over the decades has removed all the paint wherever the dirt went. Track chains and pads look 'right' to me bare, anyway!
Then, too, I've seen so many industrial machines over the years that yellow painted tracks seems common to me. If you're all over the tracks and frames with a can of yellow paint, then it all winds up yellow!
Heck, if I ever repainted mine I'd paint just the frame. If some got ont the pads and chains, then that'd be yellow, too. I'd not be taking them off and so it'd all get yellow. But, then the next time I used it, the tracks would be bare again, anyway!
Not that I'm going to paint mine. I like it as it is - an old friend. It would look odd to me to be repainted.....
-End Edit-
It looks a lot like my 58 - when it still *had* the yellow paint on it, that is.
Now my yellow is faded to white, what's left of it.
The yellow on the tracks and frames is almost all gone from decades of use, but a close look reveals some spots of faded yellow paint still there. My green is so dark now, you'd think it's an Oliver, actually, with the now-white stripe on the hood...
Now, the shades of green and yellow might be off. I can't *really* tell because most everything on the web is off color shade-wise on my calibrated system. Most folks use digital cameras and whatnot and never think about 'colorspace' or color calibration. It looks pretty reasonable, though.
Additionally, mine has green paint over yellow for the direction reverser casting. Not for any other castings, just the DR. I figure they must have been out of green ones that day and took a yellow one off the shelf and painted it green. Or, maybe they always did that when an Ag 420 was ordered with a DR. I couldn't tell you, but I'd believe it either way.
Later!
Stan
