Attaches/screws to one of the valve cover studs.

Go to a Chevy dealer. Very common part for 305's like $5 each. Otherwise it is a 3/16 piece of steel with a 1.25" hole on one end and a .375" hole on the other and about a .5" web between the 2 holes.

I thought the smallblock Chevy lift rings attached to the intake manifold bolts rather than the valve cover studs? I suppose you could still get it to work though.
