1010 crawler w/loader price?

found a 1010 diesel w/loader ser. 1460 need help on yr. and what a fair price is for it. it runs but needs alot of hoses for loader replaced. been sitting for awhile. thanks for your help!! :D

The serial number for the crawler is usually a 5 digit number- it looks like you provided the loader attachment serial number.

To determine year, you would need to find the serial number data plate for the crawler- if like the 2010 it is on the right side engine block or on the bellhousing. Once you find it, you can compare to the ranges found in the FAQ forum on this board.

If engine has been replaced, then serial number data plate may be from another machine or missing entirely. In that case, you generally will not be able to figure out the exact year but may be able to narrow down by certain parts that have production changes at a certain serial number break.

Fair market cost varies widely and depends on a number of factors including condition, location, market conditions, price of scrap metal, etc. Most running 1010 crawler loaders I have seen here in the Midwest go between $1000 and $4000, but value depends greatly on condition of components such as engine, transmission, steering clutch and undercarriage.

There are several 1010 owners on here that can give you additional information and/or clarify the information I provided.

yes it was off the loader will have to look at engine as far as price thanks for a ballpark figure cause i had no idea!!

want some opinions here, have found diesel 1010 and 2010 for sale, both in about the same cond. which is better as far as parts availibility, power and repairs. thanks for the help!!!

No comparison in power, 2010 is more. But, parts are much harder to find for 2010.

its been a yr but finally got this 1010 with loader bought, have some ? what does the lever on the far left for it just moves to easy up and down somethings not hooked up. and does anybody have the steering brake pedal springs for sale? one side is broke and i think that is why it wont move.

The lever on the left of the dash is the hydraulic reverser. There shouldn't be much resistance to that moving, it just moves a valve. Same thing with the foot pedal on the left, that's the clutch pedal for the hydro reverser. It just moves a valve so it should move easily by hand. Pedal on the right is the foot brake that operates both steering brakes at the same time. The two levers in the middle are your steering clutches/brakes. The lever on the right of the dash is the throttle.

You will need the glow plugs working to get it started. DO NOT USE ETHER. Turn and hold the key to the left to run the glowplugs for 20 seconds, then turn the key to the right to crank it. There is also a primer pump that squirts diesel straight into the intake manifold that mounts next to the ignition key that makes a huge difference if it works.

Is it a dash shift transmission or a floor shift?

it is a dash shift but the nos are wore out! hey and thank you very much for the info you answered alot of ? for me. been working on getting it to run and did yesterday, need to get hoses replaced and hydraulic fluid in it to get bucket to lift. thanks again!!

That makes it a 1960-61 machine like ours.

I will look tomorrow and list off where the gear positions are.

If you can get the reverser shift lever on the housing in the forward position and lock it there with some baling wire you can at least use the machine because the manual transmission has a reverse gear too.

so i got my cable free and repaired it,put cable on and got it to move and found all the gears, but now i cant get the hydraulic system to work to raise bucket. pulled hose off and it pukes out fluid but i dont think enough. i noticed on their is a valve you can pull up on to change flow of oil i guess for loader or backhoe and its pushed down but dont know if that has anything to do with it any help!!!

That is a diverter for the backhoe most likely. If the hoses for the hoe are not connected together, do NOT hit the diverter, normally blows the pump instantly.

yea they are connected it routes back into suction side.

Okay, then switch the diverter back and forth to see if it helps.

finally got diverter valve to pull up and now the loader works great!! can finally get it home and fix a few other items.
