No Master Link?
No Master Link?
I was looking at the left track on my 2010 today because I know I am going to have to replace the clutch pack on that side. I do not see a master pin in the track at all. The other side is obvious, there's a bolt in it. However, all the pins are identical on the left side, inside and out. I do not see a circlip or any other device suggesting anything other than a press fit pin.
Say it isn't so? this won't be fun if it is....

My 2010 masterpin head is round and flat, but with one round side flattened off. It fits into a slot on the track. Take a look at my post "2010 Repair" and you can see how I derailed the tracks to get them off. Then I could man-handle them on the ground to remove the pin. Also see how I removed the pin.
I suppose if your tracks truely do not have a masterpin, then I guess you could re-rail the tracks in the reverse order to put them one. Just remember there is a correct direction of rotation of the track.

Thanks Mark,
I'm familiar with your series ( it's really good) but I hadn't looked at it from the master link point of view. I'll go look at it.
I had kind of resigned my self to derailing the track the way you did. I just need a bit more time. I looked at the garage of the place i just bought and it's big enough to put the dozer in while I work on it which means I can do it this winter out of the cold and snow which is just around the corner.

There are a few pictures on the site showing how people use a 2x4 with a hole in it clamped to the tracks to hold the drift in position for master pin removal.
for example:

see near the bottom of page 1 on Mark's thread
I use a clamped 4x4 and a big hammer with the pin located over the sprocket or front idler depending on best access. Good luck. Paul
