1010 or 350 tracks and sprockets?
I dual posted this since it's both a 1010 and a 350 question - I think?
I'm trying to ID some tracks and sprockets on a 1010 crawler. They are Berco and supposedly almost new. May have been bought years ago but unused.
The machine is 100 miles from here. If it was close I'd just go over and measure the track bushings IDs.
I'm wondering if these are 1010 tracks and sprockets - or - 350 tracks and sprockets.
The Berco sprockets have three extra bolts and I'm wondering if they hold some sort of adapter?
Here's a photo of my original 1010 sprocket on left - and the Berco on the right that is bolted to a 1010.

Sprockets
The picture on the right looks like my 440 crawlers, 3 big studs with nuts and 6 smaller bolts. No adapter, that was the way the sprocket was attached to the axle flange. Maybe the earlier 1010s were like this?

hi from what i have the sprockets are not 350..... berco did make a weld on ring for 440 and 1010 but not a sprocket... a 350 sprocket has 9 bolt holes ...the three extra bolts in you pic are where the dowels would be on a 1010 as you can barley see in your other pic ....and the berco numbers are ID110 for 350 sprocket and ID167 for the weld on ring if you can get a pic of the chains you might beable to see if it has the bigger pins as used in the later 2010s and the 350s

Re: Sprockets
I've got a first-year 1010 (shifter in the dash). That's the photo I posted (left side). I know it's all original. Even still has the original steering clutches, rollers, etc. I got it from the guy that bought it new. Has three dowels where those big bolts are on the Berco-equipped 1010.yellowcrawler wrote:The picture on the right looks like my 440 crawlers, 3 big studs with nuts and 6 smaller bolts. Here are some track photos of the 1010 for sale with Berco tracks and rollers. I can't get the guy to measure the bushing ODs for me. Seems that's the simple way to ID if they are 1010 or 350 tracks.
Note there IS a Berco part # on the sprockets, but I can't make it out. Maybe JD - something - 112 or something close. Might be JD 7112. The sprockets have BERCO on them and are not weld-one rings. They are complete sprockets.
that is berco for sure the part # would be ID 112 did you try calling berco and see what they can tell you from that part#? from the amount of flat on the top of the teeth i would say its small pin 1010 not 350

If this guy doesn't get back to me with specs, I'll call a Berco dealer. I looked at Berco's Website and they sell both rims and complete sprockets for 1010 dozers. I'm surprised how much they have for a 1010. Nothing for my Case 310G or Allis Charmers HD4. I even had a hard time finding parts for a Deere 350 dozer -but it's sort of hidden.jtrichard wrote:that is berco for sure the part # would be ID 112 did you try calling berco and see what they can tell you from that part#? from the amount of flat on the top of the teeth i would say its small pin 1010 not 350
1010 is listed under "dozer" for "John Deere Dubuque"
350 is not listed under "dozer" , only under "loader" and "John Deere Dubuque."
All my literature is still away at Servpro so I can not look anything up right now, but I have an idea.
They are definintely not 350 sprockets as they have dish to them, and 350 sprockets do not. I do know however that at one time, Berco did make sprockets that were a direct replacment for factory Deere sprockets, but they were cast and machined for 1 3/4" bushing for installing 350 rails on the older crawlers up through 1010. A 1010 used the narrow dish sprocket which was an available option on MC through 430, so they would have had enough market to do so. The part number of the original Berco narrow dish sprocket in 1 9/16" is ID92, so not hard to believe that ID112 would be the same sprocket in the larger bushing size. In later years, they discontinued these types of sprockets and just sold the weld on sprocket rim.

dowels vs bolts.
According to the 1010 parts manual, PC 727, crawlers before serial number 15258 had dowels, after used bolts on the flanged axle.
