Well, we took the cover off the transverser and looking in found nothing wrong. After replacing the 60 dollar gasket. Dad looked at the Parking brake, the spring had came off. Put it on and lo and behold the dozer is now moving
Which now we have the Orginial problem, and Digit has us looking into the Steering valves.
The Dozer will not move unless you put slight pressure on the Left steering lever, after putting light pressure on the left side it goes forward and the Right side works perfect. Do you think ithe Steering vales and spools need replaced, we took the seat off and the batteries out, but we need to do some major cleaning before we pull the steering block off and start pulling parts off of it. Let me hear your thoughts. Also when pressing the brake pedal, it looks like nothing is moving as far as the linkage goes to the brake. Hit me with some things I should be looking at and for.
Thanks for your Help so far!!!

Well, I can't find anything wrong. I am going to replace both gasket and the seals, and O ring on the Elbow fitting. Brake cylinder looks good, Steering spools look good. Don't know what else to look for. I will order the seals and gaskets tomorrow.

Anyone have any suggestions????

The only thing I can suggest would be to make certain on the steering adjustments. The fact that you can add a little pressure to the one side makes me think it could just be an adjustment issue. I'm not a 450 /550 expert so maybe some of these other guys may have a better idea of what to suggest. I know the spools need to be adjusted correctly. If one is in too far or out too far it can effect the way they work.

I don't know the exact adjustment as I am not real familiar with these dozers. However there will be an "eye bolt" in the end of each spool. It is a matter of getting these eye bolts screwed in or out to position the spools in there proper place with your steering lever in the at rest position. If you do not have a good tech manual, then it would be a good investment for you. I highly recommend you get one for your machine.
You mentioned your brake pedals function, you might also check to make sure you don't have some linkages stuck or frozen in position. All of this linkage has to work freely and independent of each other or it can cause odd behavior in your machine.
