Track Adjustment

As some of you may remember I replaced the recoil springs on my 450c a few weeks back. During assembly I pumped grease into the tracks drove it a few hundred yards and pumped them up again.

I used the little loader about 4 hours and noticed the left side was loose again, and pumped it back up. After another 2 hours the left and right side was loose and I pumped them back up again. I've used it a couple more hours and the left side was loose yet again.

I'm not seeing any grease escape anywhere, is this normal to have to adjust the tracks this much after collapsing the adjusters? The irony is the side that is giving me the most trouble is an after market replacement and the other is original.

Hi there-

I have the same issue with my 2010- the aftermarket adjuster is the one that loosens up after a few hours of work and there is no visible grease escaping.

Thus, while I can't say the issue is common I can say you are not alone.

My aftermarket one did the same thing. Its just air. It took awhile but eventually worked its way out. My factory ajuster gave me hassels too. It kept loosening up. I didnt know the port for the grease was on the bottom. lol. Not untill I had three tubes of grease into it in a dark garage.. The little steel ball behind the plug was split in half.

Well at least I'm not alone and maybe it will work itself out over time. I'll just keep an eye on it and a grease gun handy.
