Cooling fan

I ordered a new cooling fan locally. What came was a four blade reversable fan. I had a six blade blower before. Will the four blade work for me or should I send it back and reorder. I see in the parts book has both listed but whitch woud be better. The bearing went bad on the water pump. The blade cocked down and was tapping on a bolt on the powersteering pump. The bolt backed out enough to catch the fan so its pretty beat up.
Also wondering, not that I'm going to do it but has anyone ever used an electric cooling fan.

They sent you the expensive fan and this fan will work fine a six blade was thought to be needed for real hot weather so watch the temp guage on hot days I would rather run that fan you got so go for it you can push air forward in the summer and pull air back in the cooler weather nothing wrong with that either .Digitup.

Okay sounds good. I dont have to worry about to much warm weather in Calumet,Mi. I dought I'll be reversing the blade for winter. Seems like to much of a hassel. I wont use it much in the winter I prefer to be in my truck with the heater on high. In a pinch I had to puch some snow this winter and in full gear I dont know what was rattleing more the dozer or my teeth.

I hope the pump parts come in tomorrow. I would love to get it back together. Im going to try and rebuild it myself. I have done them before, and the nearest dealer is 3 hours away. Also have a new top roller coming. Having the radiator cleaned out and a new filler neck put on too. My buddy was helping me and where he placed it it fell off the tailer right on the top.

Take care to support the housing really well when you press out the old bearing.

Okay. I will take care while pressing bearing out. Ive got a pretty good press set up. Picked up a 40 ton and accesssorys at an auction a couple of years ago. It has been the handiest thing in the shop yet.

One more question. I dropped the radiator of to be repaired. The repair shop wanted to know what PSI cap I need because they are going to replace the neck. I called my wife to look it up in the parts manual and she said it really didn't say. The repair manual said to test cap to 6.25 to 7.5 psi. Should I go with a 7 psi.

Tell them 7.5 lbs and they should have a rough idea .But 6lbs is just a bit lite I have tested to 10 lbs you just never need that pressure Digitup.

Trying to keep my good patiance. Still waiting on the radiator. Also I was sent the wrong pully for the water pump. Im sure I ordered the right one. They sent one that bolts on with the fan. Mine gets pressed on to the pump saft. and the fan bolts to it. I ordered a new oe cause someone before me tack welded the pully to the shaft

Ya I hear what you are sayin I ordered part's Friday from a guy and I swear this guy couldn't find s*%# in a barn yard without a computer and he still would need some one to point it out when he steeped in it !. He has been at this job for several years now and he just screws up every time Standing there like a jack ass eatin thistles If I figured the days of extra ordering and waiting I would have fired him years ago.Be patient and good luck .Digitup.

I sent the pulley back. Going to grind the weld off the old one and see if it is useable. I cant wait, I need the machine going. The radiator is done and ready to be picked up. The top roller came in today also. Thanks for all the help and the info.

Okay than Digitup2 you will just love this.
I mentioned I need the machine running, this is why. I am on vacation this coming week. I rarely ever take time off just for r&r. I drive truck, about 2600 miles a week. I enjoy just getting out out of the truck and doing some real manual labor. I did for years flat work and block work. When I get time off I like to help friends and family with their projects who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to have things done.
This week I have a busy week. I'm helping put in a slab for my neighbors daughter. I need my loader to do some small work, like skimming off topsoil and speading about a foot of sand. I also have already started a small basement for my dad's friend. Only 24x40, but it is a bit complicated with nine corners, a prow on one end, and three pilasters.
Tight schedule this week but I'm not about to let anyone down, and I know my limits and capabilities. Here's the part you'll love. I drove 40 miles one way to pick up the radiator and they said it wasn't done. At this point my stomach is in my throat. I was told two days ago that all that was needed was for it to be pressure tested and that it would be ready. Now I'm two days behind and feel like dirt. I usually dont use my equipment because I have older stuff just to use around the farm, but I said I would, and be ready to go.
So now Im sipping on a beer, and planning my tomorrow.
