The main thing is to be careful not to blow out the seals.
I have the ends and the zerks on hand if need be.
The gun JT is talking about is an Alemite 4035, a local auto parts store might be able to order one for you too.
I do not know if the gun in question works with cartridges or not, JT might know.

I found a low pressure grease gun for $25 at Princess Auto. It is a cordless battery re-chargeable gun that uses the smaller tubes of grease but I just fill it with my regular gun when it gets empty. It has a maximum pressure of 3000 psi. It works great for only a few dollars. I have seen them at other places for about the same money.

Just realized I have a spare gun with hose and end. Don't think it is a low pressure, came with a crawler I bought. If you want that one for $75, gun and hose, let me know.

Way, way back when I was a kid, some of our old guns you were supposed to take the plunger out and turn it half a turn to use cartridges instead of bulk or oil. Don't know if that is still possible.

All good grease guns[Alemite or Lincoln etc] will have an instruction sheet for flipping the plunger or rubber from sleeve to cartridge I just got several that have two stages high pressure low volume and low pressure high volume so if you look they will be out there I don't know who makes these grease guns but they would be handy with a button fitting head .If it is a oil pump you are after then these will work well on rollers if you just take it easy as it is filling the oil will ease out the seal at the end with out pushing the seal out the older the seal the easier it will leak oil .Digitup.
On a similar note, what is the most preferred way of oiling the front and top idlers on like a 450c? The manual says to rotate the check hole to 1 oclock if I remember right then to try and remove the center push some oil and and shove the center back in before it all leaks out. I'm not sure what you are suppose to push the oil in with, maybe one of these low pressure oil/grease guns? I have an old fashion pistol grip oilier, could I not use that and just push the oil in the check hole?
This seems very awkward and I'm figuring some of the more seasoned veterans have came up with a better plan.

I always put winter grease in the roller s any way I have several that have leaked from new and yes they were Deere's own rollers that leaked the little 450J in my blog photo had two leak from 300 hours and I just put a button fitting on .They had sent me two rollers but I just grease the ones on there and keep rolling In summer the winter grease is darn near a liquid anyway in the heat we just put a button fitting on the roller and install a button glad hand on the grease gun pump the grease in and away we go they work good greased just don't go dumb and pump the seal out .Digitup.
