Working on a late 440 gas with power six way blade. For those of you that have not seen one before, quite the spaghetti maze of hyd hoses.

That is the factory dual valve that controls angle and tilt.

I'm starting to drool a little bit
They are a neat set up. And it looks like a nice straight crawler as well. I've got my eye out for one, but haven't found any close enough to buy.
My dad had one in an ICD and he sold it when I was in grade 9. I remember building a course for the trikes and bikes in the old garden location. Assisted by a 420 reverser equipped loader machine. The loader is still in the shed and was retired from service when we got a straight 350 for yard use.
It was fairly nice as I remember and went to BC. Might have to track the buyer down one of these days and see if he still has it.
I wasn't interested in old deeres at the time....[/url]

Andre,
Unless I can tell a hose is very recent, I won't reuse them. In the case of this crawler, they were all rotten, so no real quandries as to what to do with them.
Got the hyd lever and linkage done today, and hood and seat are back on. Now once I get the tracks rebushed, it will be able to move under its own power again.

That is a lot of hoses.
Where was the raise/lower lever at?
Lavoy you need to track me down an original electric oil pressure gauge for the diesel, they're impossible to find.
How in the world do you guys get so much accomplished in a day. It seems every time I go to do something there's a fitting, bolt, bracket, something that holds me up and that in turn holds up everything else.

Ben,
Yes, probably 30 feet or more of hose, kind of a pain to route everything.
The crawler hyd valve lifts and lowers the blade, the double valve for tilt and angle is actually considered part of the blade assembly.
I had an NOS diesel gauge at one time, still might have it.
Keep in mind, I have been working on this crawler since before Christmas, and need to get it done and out of the shop, there are 3 more coming in yet this Winter, and another that is not even home yet, plus an MC still in the stand waiting for a radiator.

Ben,
If it helps, it took me around 4 years all total to go from engine extraction to first start after complete rebuild. Much of that was delays due to my travel. However, repitition helps like with most task.
I have another GM 2-53 that I am going to rebuild. I already know much of what is needed and it will not take long at all to get it done and back in the 440 ICD.
The issue I have is getting to the farm and having enough time to start the project.
It is all fun, no matter how long it takes.
