BO LINDEMAN Rear Cast Hub needed and bearings question
Hey everyone. I need the Cast drive hub that the steering clutches slide on to. Mine was welded to the shaft and in need of repair. I cant find one anywhere.
Also has anyone put new bearings in the sterring clutches. (its a large throw out bearing that when you pull on the sterring lever engages and disengages the clutches) I think its cool that you can grease them from outside of the housing but my are beat and need replacing. I was told to put modern throw out bearing in there. Has anyone done this?
Thanks

I have talked to several people over the years about this, but never found a replacement throwout bearing. I had what was supposedly a good number at one time, but proved to be incorrect. I still don't believe that an alternative does not exist, they would not have used something that odd.

Lindeman hub and throw out bearing
Called NAPA they said the bowers 2005 crosses to N1081 and is special order and $71.. the SKF bearing is in stock and $42 ill have to take the inner hub down to NAPA and see if she works. If it does i'll be so happy and thankful.
BUT that brings me to my other question does anyone know where i can get that outer rear hub? (the clutching slid onto it.) I need one and can't find it any where. Seems they broke alot or the early ones were single spline and were often replaced w/ the multi spline ones. But who ever had mine just welded the hub to the shaft and it shreaded the bearing and clutchings. Its the last piece of the puzzle that i need to complete it.

looking at the pic at napa the 1081 does not have the grease notch where the SKF 1166 has grease notch so if you have grease hose to the out side then the 1166 is the one you need as long as its the right size

A lot of Lindeman parts have been sucked up over the past couple years.
