I have a question that so of you I hope can answer.
My JD 450 B Turbo runs great.. It will run all day. When I try to shut it down It continues to run. It will kill a few rpm's and spit and sputter some. but it wont shut down. If I turn the key back on It runs fine all day. It does this hot or cold.
The only way I can kill the engine is to stall it against the brakes.
Has anyone had this problem before.
Thank Mike.

I agree, if it sputters a little it points to either the solenoid sticking or else it is not seating properly due to wear or debris. Just for grins, have you tried clicking the key on and off several times in a row to see if that can free it up?
If you are uncomfortable with taking the pump apart, even in a minor way, a somewhat simple work around would be to install another fuel shutoff valve right at the inlet to the pump but to be honest IMHO having the engine turn off with the key is as much a safety issue as anything else so if at all possible inspect/troubleshoot the solenoid and fix it there and be done with it.
