I have a 1967 JD 350 dozer and I have a crack in the top portion of the final and need to weld it. Can someone tell me if it is made of cast iron or Cast steel ? Does anyone have a final to sell ? Thanks Paul
thanks Paul

Cast steel. Clean, V it out , preheat to around 600 then weld with 7018 LH rod. Make sure you maintain the preheat temp while welding then post heat slowly removing heat. Peening wouldn't hurt either. Not difficult to weld.
