Good morning,
just wanted to update you all and thank you all again for all of your help.
this site and you all are the best!
ordered the single wire alt. installed and wired it as per the diagram, installed my inline fuel filter, checked and rechecked she turned two revolutions and fired, as it idled I thought maybe that was it...
but it was still an uneven idle no matter how hard I tried to adjust the carb.
then about 15 minutes in, she started heaving & popping & eventually died!
boy was I bummed had to walk away for the rest of that day
the next morning I thought I would try the brake clean on the intake again, maybe I didn't spray enough on it, so I fired her up and sprayed away...
all of the sudden she raised up in idle, and again, and again!
I wish that I knew how to post a pic for you guys, blown out gasket and a MAJOR crack in the intake cant believe I finally found it, thanks again for all of your advice guys
one more ? should I use antisieze on the bolts or blue locktight? also, any sealant with the new gasket?
thanks again, shanon.

Yes to antiseize, no on the sealant.

Might be a little low, but at least is uniform.
