450C trans./final problem

Post by BOBWOOD » Thu Oct 09, 2014 11:55 am

Hi guys i was wondering if you could help me...i was back blading and felt the right side dragging...i immediately raised the machine off the ground and released all track tension to see how the tracks moved...There is a lot of resistance on the one side...enough to bog the engine down and when steering lever is pulled back slowly track locks up immediately once clutch disengages...not like other side that kinda coasts to a stop. ..I drained the oil from the 3 rear plugs on that side and it is quite clear with no metal fragments...my question is what is most likely cause and how should I proceed? Also is it possible that the brake is dragging for some reason?...This is very frustrating as I only have 72 hours on the machine since spending 3 years and many 10s of thousands of dollars refurbishing it...

Hi,

Sounds exactly like the brake is applied when it ought not to be. Might be the brake actuator is hanging up.
