Help with 2010
2010 engine? 1010 tractor ok forget what was said about HLR clutch for starting as for glow plugs it takes the AT16499 the engine ser.# is somewhere between 29001 and 42000 getting those glow plugs out may be a BIG P.I.T.A. you need to get a full set of plugs and with that white CRAP all over the place and no plugs it will be very hard starting do you have primer pump? if you are using either to start use VERY little of it....
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper
Yep, S/N is 31739. I've added a pic of the serial and model to the pictures. Why do I need to replace all of the plugs? I will look up that part number you provider for prices..
Yeah, this white stuff is crap! Thankfully the coolant heater works really well though allowing the engine to spin pretty easily I do have a primer and have been using starting fluid but will really try to use as little as possible now after reading this forum.

Hi,
If you have a modern one-wire alternator with a built-in regulator, then all you need is a single hot wire to the battery and ground. It will cut-out when it stops turning.

Before buying glowplugs for a 2010, you need to read a couple of the threads between Jdemaris and Lavoy about them. The cliff notes summary is that you want the Wellmans (dual coil) because they are almost burnout proof; the May Company ones (single coil that Deere supplies) are the ones prone to burn out. Lavoy sells the Wellmans, at least he did.
I have a single wire alternator on my 2010 diesel; I can look this weekend and see which one it is but it appears to be a Delco.

Thank you gentlemen. Delco 10si and dual coil glow plugs it is.
Quick question.. do you guys have radiator overfill containers? Reason I ask is that the original owner who installed the 2010 engine in the 1010 chassis said he kept the old radiator in it because the 2010 was too big to fit. And that it overheats now because the rad is too small and I lose about a couple litres each time I use it now. I think it's all coming out the overfill tube so was contemplating installing an overfill container. My mechanic friend thought I should just drill a hole in the thermostat but I thought I'd see what you guys thought.
Thanks!

First the 10si can be either 3 wire or one wire but if you want one wire it has to be set up for one wire ....next is you radiator clean in side and out? there is not that much difference between the 1010 engine and the 2010 ... but you could put a puke tank on it any kind of tank you can fit in there will work just the hose has to be in the bottom or have a dip tube to the bottom .... also check your radiator cap is the gasket good? it should only be about a 6 lbs. cap ... i don't know what the guy thinks drilling the stat is going to do ????
