350B rock guards

do any of you guys have experience with running a dozer (without) the rock guards installed? the bolt holes are so rusted and deteriorated that I would have to remove the rails and retap all of them. I will be using the dozer in mostly dirt only. but I don't know if they add strength to the rails .. thanks for the help..

My 450c is missing the rock guards. I've had it a few years now and never had an issue and I work in some pretty rocky ground.

Once I fixed my track tension springs I've never thrown a track again.
