Running a 350

Post by jthornton » Tue May 12, 2015 5:44 am

I finally had a chance to use my 350 the other day and was trying to skim off some dirt that had collected on a flat area behind my shop. Seems like every time I lowered the blade down after a few feet of pushing dirt the front of the crawler would rise up and the blade would dig in. Am I just doing it wrong or is the loose pins on the blade pivot the issue?

I rebuilt the 6-way controls so they are nice and tight with no slop.

Thanks
JT

Could be C frame bushings, and or cylinder bushings worn. Other thought is air in the lift side of the rams. Jump up an down on the blade when it is up and see if it moves like you are compressing air in the rams.

Checked the cylinders and the rear bushings on both are a little worn. The C frame bushings are loose for sure. The C frame is the part that connects to the pins under the crawler and the whole 6-way raises up and down with? What do you have to do to get that bugger out and fix the slop?

Thanks

Unhook hoses, pull the pins and back away. You might find wear in the dozer frame mounts them selves, that will require more work.

I assume you need to block up the crawler end of the C frame?

Thanks

Both ends, then back away.

Thanks, as soon as monsoon season is over I'll give that a try.
