Will the trans gear selector top from a 40 MT fit a 40c transmission

Yes, but the stick will interfere with the steering clutches. Better off with one from a 420 that has the stick "caged". Still have to bend it.

No such thing as a 40 MT, so I assume you mean MT? Should fit, but I won't swear to it. MT uses a straight shifter, 40 is angled.

Actually,i just tried something similar to this.I have a 40 wheel tractor with frozen shift forks.Looking for an easy way out,i tried the shift tower from an M.Two shift forks are identical,but the third is a totally different size.The part numbers involved are M46T and M1788T.
