steering issue

I have a jd350 it will turn to the right but will not turn left at first when I tried to turn to the left it feels like its trying to brake...it doesn't even try to turn to the left at all

When you pull the left lever does the whole machine just stop moving ?
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper

it keeps moving but almost kills the engine

Hi,

Sounds like you figured it right, then. Your steering clutch is not disengaging before the brake is applied.

ive never owned a dozer before this was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up its been sitting for about 15 to 20 yrs I was curious if this was something easy to fix or if I needed a pro on this job

I had the same thing happen with a 450 I bought. I imagine the setup is close to the same. Some simple adjusting of the clutch and brake linkages got it to turn on a dime in both directions and leave change. Was very easy to do by following the directions in the manual. If you don't have a manual for your 350 yet I highly urge you to get one. The machines and the manuals were designed to make repairs and adjustments pretty easy for people to accomplish on their own.

Hi,

Hmmm. Sit-itis. Very likely the steel discs on that side have rusted making the clutch pack stick. They might break free if you keep driving and trying that side. Then, again, they might not. Which means dropping that track and pulling the final drive.

At this point, you really need the service manual and parts catalog so you can see what all these bits are and how they work.

I appreciate all the help I haven't had much time to get out and work with the loader I did ajust the clutch some but no effect when I drove it...im gonna continue to try driving it around more to see if the cluth is stuck
