Track adjuster problem
Track adjuster problem
Well I was washing the mc today took me 4 hours to clean all the fragmitas and mud out from the undercarriage not a happy camper. Well straight to the point I noticed that my left inside track adjuster is coming off of its guide. It's some what on the flat part twards the front of the tractor but the back of it is off of the guide and above it about an inch the front of it where the tensioning bolt is pointing in twards the idler wheel.. I don't know if the idler axle is bent of it just simply came off of its track. It doesn't move when the machine is moving back to the barn I'm terrified my new baby is broken already. PLEASE HELP ME anything comments are greatly appreciated
PS don't tell the women I have another baby in the barn now she may just kill me hahaha

Nothing like an old tractor
The part that is coming off is part 30B If I'm looking at the parts book correctly

guide
Can't see your pics for some reason, but I think you're talking about the Idler assembly and it's rear guide that slides on the carriage assembly, with the adjuster bolt and nuts attached to the Idler. Is the rear rock/branch/any foreign object preventer still in place on the rear of the Idler assembly?
Shaft is most likely stripped. Split the track and pull the idler and brackets off and you will know in short order. Do not keep running it this way, the dollar meter will be clicking if you do.

track adjuster
After looking up the MC in my service manual, I see the track tension adjuster is completely different than my 420-C's so all my advice can be tossed out the window with the baby and bathwater I think Lavoy is on the right track, after all is said and done you'll know her that much better. You might learn a few new words too, I know I did replacing my idler shaft last mo Good luck
