Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
Hi,
They go from the top of the nosecone to the top of the crash cage. Keeps limbs from smacking you in the face. Most of the time, anyway. A different exhaust pipe follows one of the risers (whichever side the exhaust comes out of), or at least is supposed to, to keep it from being bent back into your face by those limbs as well.

In some areas they are called "sweeps".

Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
My 450c didn't come with any, but I am going to fabricate some with 2 3/8" pipe. It doesn't seem difficult to do.
Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
Fabricating a pair sounds like a good idea. Try to get the thickest wall possible. The OEM sweeps are hard to get ahold of. The most difficult part will be attaching them to the hard-nose and the ROPS, but making them removable. If you need to bend the pipe, i have blocked one end of the pipe, packed it super tight with silica sand, block the other end, heat and bend. Hopefully the compressed/packed sand prevents the tube deforming too much. Bruce

Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
Fortunately I have a hydraulic pipe bender that will bend it. I was thinking of making mount tabs bolted to the nose where I can put a bolt or pin thru them. I will send pics once I get on it.
Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
Oh Yeah!! The right tool for the job.
Re: Looking for 450c limb risers
Just for jiggles, look at how deere attaches the sweeps to the hardnose on the 450E series. IMO this would be easy to replicate, yet effective and removable. I think the harder issue is marrying into the ROPS, but following the original 450C design might not be too bad.
