Have my 440ic up on blocks, noticed tracks seem to be worn in pins/bushings. Noticed that bushings are only as long as link, so if I removed any pin in track, the track would come apart( without pressing or cutting) is this normal? On a cat, the bushings( other than the main link) the bushings protrude into the next link, and have to be pressed or cut apart.
These are 2 bolt pads, single grouser , in almost new condition.
By the way, I am not supposed to be working on the toy- I am supposed to be getting house ready for winter- but this is more fun!! :
Found out #2 rod seized ( bearing turned) hope crank can be ground. Head needs to be rebuilt, guides worn, ex seats need replacing, oil pump is marginal. Cyl walls seem ok, pistons and pins ok, (gas engine)
Throttle/ governor shaft stand( front left side of engine, top) has been broken and rewelded, will be looking for a new one.

Re: 440 ic tracks
Forgot to mention, by serial # , this is a 1958 model, #-442172
Are the steering clutches same for these early units, same as later models, or is later ones better?
Are Diesel engine ones stronger? If newer models are better, can they be installed on my older unit? Will 350 tracks fit on a 440?

Re: 440 ic tracks
All 2 bolt Deere tracks are flush type, not interlock. There is a master pin no sense beating out a track pin, just need to find the Tee headed pin.
Clutches are the same, I have them in stock.
350 tracks will fit, but are 4 bolt, so you need pads and bolts, and you will have to rerim your sprockets for the bigger bushings.

Re: 440 ic tracks
Thanks Lavoy. Would you have that throttle stand?
Re: 440 ic tracks
Give me a call Tuesday, or shoot me an e-mail and I will do some digging. I know I had one at one time.
