Does anyone know how much hydraulic pressure the 420c pump puts out? I'm trying to decide on rebuilding
the hydraulic cylinders for the blade, or buying new ones. My cylinders are 3" bore by 8 inch stroke, with a 1 1/8 "
rod. They are welded cylinders, so I don't think they are the original ones.(I think it's a model 62 blade.)
Most of the ones I can find are with 1 1/4 rods, and I'm not sure if I'll lose lifting capacity with the bigger rod,
which makes the surface area of the piston smaller.
Somewhere I thought I found the numbers 800 to 100 psi.
Thanks, Pete

1050PSI is about it.

Re: Hydraulic Pressure
Thank you.
Do you think going from an 1.125" rods to a 1.25" rods on the 2 cylinders, will affect the lifting of the
dozer blade? Mine had two 3" cylinders. I thinks it a 62 blade.

Re: Hydraulic Pressure
It will, question is if it will affect it enough that you will ever notice or care. And yes, if you have welded cylinders, they are not original, the factory cylinders were tie rod cylinders.

Re: Hydraulic Pressure
I had rods made for the OEM JD cylinders on my 62 blade, so I have some dimensions that may help you, if yours is a #62 blade.
pin center line to pin center line: Closed 27-1/2" Extended 43"
Cylinder bore: 2.740"
cylinder rod diameter: 1-1/4"
Here is a link to the John Deere on line 62 parts catalog, if you don't have one. Don't expect JD to have much, if any parts for it, but the catalog can help ID parts. A word of caution: DO NOT drive the wedges in the clamp lock, that hold the blade side to side tilt/level too hard, or you will break the ears of the clamp lock.
