Mc 1000 tool carrier

Post by jcastigl » Tue Aug 16, 2016 12:47 pm

I have a mc 1000 tool carrier and I can't seem to get the tool bar pitch set, the adjustment levers seem to be seized up and or broken does anyone know where I can get parts for it?

Try Lavoy first. If he can't help then take it apart. You will see where the seizure is, either the bearing or the threads. The bearings are common items, but you may have to use a machine shop to make the special nut. Use "grade 8" if you have new male threads welded on.

I don't think there are any parts available if your lucky you can take the crank handle off soak with your favorite penetrating solution n put a socket on it n use a impact try to work it back n forth n see if it will come loose but you will probably have to take it apart
When you get it apart the bearings are easy to find I've been able to save the nut but usually have to replace the threaded rod I found a fine threaded grade 8 all thread that I make it out of

No parts readily available except the bearing. Everything else in there I have had manufactured in the past, so it can be done.

Lavoy, so you've machined or had machined the threaded adjusting screw part #(N103YC) in parts schematic . I have determined the thread is 3/4x16
but the rust has deteriorated beyond use. I'd like to see about getting some of these ?

I know this is a very old post but hoping someone will read it. I see mentioned a part schematic for the JD MC1000 Tool Carrier. I am rebuilding one that I acquired on two pallets and would love some documentation. Does anyone possess one of these schematics? If yes, I would love a copy and would certainly be willing to compensate for your trouble and postage. or even a .PDF?

Here is a link to the online Parts Catalog, PC296, that is available at JDparts.com.

PC296

You can download, and save to your computer, a free copy of the Operator's Manual at

John Deere Ag & Turf Bookstore

Click on Equipment Publications. On that page click on the Model # search and change it to Part #/Keyword search. Enter BIY6853 in the "Enter search Terms" box and click the search icon. The manual info should come up. At the right of the title box is a download icon. Click on it and it will download a free copy to your computer which you can save and print as you wish.
