Sorry if this has been listed before but I searched and can't find it. I have a old 350 track loader and it worked before I bought it by the time I got it to my farm the steering was not as good as when we loaded it.
I searched and found the linkage adjustment procedure but the adjustment locking nut must have threads stripped because it doesn't move away from the threaded part so I can't adjust it at all. I know I saw where someone fixed theirs by using a hiem joint but I can't find that either.
Anyone have an idea on how I can fix it? even using something like a hiem joint

Welcome to the Boards.
First on the house keeping side of things, don't be surprised if you find your thread has been moved to the Late Models Board. That is the Board thar 350 / 450 and later machines belong on. The Early Models Board is for the 1010C / 2010C models and prior models.
I may have found the thread you were looking for. Here is a link to it:

After reading through it, I suggest you pick your phone up and call Lavoy at 701-361-1006, during CST business hours, or email him directly (postmaster@jdcrawlers.com) he may have parts to help you out.
EDIT: I see Lavoy moved this thread and has updated the 350 Steering Clutch Adjuster thread I linked to say he does have the parts to repair it. Contact him.

Hi,
They are also called Rose Joints. I used them by the truckload in racing cars. The entire suspensions used these. We didn't worry about dirt and wear. Those parts tended to not last long before they got whacked. After which we just used all new ones.

Re: 350 steering link
Deere's current replacement for the steering clutch adjuster is a Heim joint. It is utter impossible to adjust, it is not a suitable part. Ive had the argument with DTAC, they don't care, they feel it is the right part, so I gave up, started putting together my own joints.
