hydraulics for backhoe

Post by sbarr » Sun Nov 25, 2007 9:51 am

I'm putting a backhoe on my 420 loader this winter sometime, just wondering what the proper way to hook up the hydraulics would be?What I was thinking is using a diverter valve of some sort to bypass the flow going to the loader,is this the way JD did or is there a better way?

i use a pto pump on mine i belive it is around 20 or 22 gpm. it seams to be pretty quick operation and you can control two functions at once. now on my little ford that has a diverter valve and runs off the loader pump, i would like to say it is 12 gpm, this hoe runs alot slower and one function at a time. witch is just fine still does the job.
i was going to use the loader pump to run the hoe on the crawler, but with the joy stick controls i thought pto pump with more volume was the better opption and that it was made to run off remotes on a tractor at 18-20 gpm

yes that would maybe be a better option,I don't have a pto but should be able to find one.
