A group 31 works just fine on my 1st gen. CTD Dodge pickup. But then also west Texas is usually a little warmer in the winter.

I would get a little oil into the cylinders before turning it over much more. In through the injector holes, or a few squirts into the either injector plug hole while turning it over should work. I had a engine that sat for many years and the mice filled the engine with canola seed ! I rebuilt the starter as well because it was dragging. Was not needed as we found out. Members here also have wrote that when starting engines that have been left for years that they pump oil through the engine first. Makes sense to me.

A long shot but, if your 350c has hoses out back for a ripper or hoe, they have to be connected to each other.
I cant recall if my 350c has a pump disconnect (like my 350b) lever but, if it does, might be a help if you disconnected for the start up.

A starter is an easy fix so if that is your only problem you are in good shape. Bring diesels back to life after such a long time is such a good feeling, I removed the head and cleaned the Canola seeds out of my 350 and.... it started, and ran well after an equally long time. Nice that yours is the c model as the steering clutches will not likely be seized as my old 350 was.(and still is, I bought it for a parts source but have not yet removed any) Here is hoping that your C will fire right up !

shouldnt have any frozen up clutches iv put every nut and bolt in this dozer so I know there shouldn't be any frozen up parts, only part iv not had to put together was the motor.. it was still together..its in my shop and has been for three years..lol.. as far as my starter goes its good they said.. he tore it apart checked it and said it was in a1 shape, so mabe I have a bad positive wire, iv re grounded, eather that or the cylinder walls have surface rust.. idk..im gonna test the voltage to the starter when I get time tonight or tomarow.. bad thing is, I almost had this dozer started last year when I found out that two injectors were dribbling fuel instead of spraying.. so o replaced all three with new then never messed with it..lol.. now this..lol

all this work because previous owner thought he could change the trans coupling front the front. then re build the tranny from the front two.. that was a mistake..
